Jose Aldo turned down the main event fight at UFC Fight Night in Brazil for one reason. He did not want to fight 5 rounds. Chael Sonnen weighs in on this episode of Beyond the Fight.

  1. This begs the question: Why isn’t Jose Aldo the main event of this event?

  2. The best spinter in the world, sprints for about 120 metres of the 200 metre sprint, the human body has its limits

  3. justin just said it on the espn podcast best just on monday i think they are the rounds where you take the most damage i 100per cent agree

and to chael i remember joe and dana and goldberg saying omg imagine if this fight was five rounds
chuck vs the axe murdered etc…
all those crazy wars that were 3 rounds if you go back in interviews dana would say

"would you not wish there was 2 more rounds that shit was crazy,,,his meida scrum days"

so thats where i think it cam from,,,nbut i agree with you aldo and justin 5 can be two much and defo when there 5 mins long

amazing to watch but crazy bad on the body and the person in the cage fighting imo

  4. They go 5 5 minute rounds so theres a higher chance for finishes. Or thats the intended effect.

  5. 3 rounds, 5 rounds, 1 rounds, 12 rounds, STILLLL!!! Undefeated, undisputed, never lost a round, the greatest thing that came from West Linn Oregon, Chael P Sonnen

  6. I think that one day the world of MMA will recognise Chael's view on 5-5 min rounds and the detrimental effects it has on fighters' careers.
