  1. Dad bought one when I was young got it from some guy that was a volunteer firefighter it had all sorts of wiring issues it was that blue color but not a Levi edition was a 6 cylinder with stick shift

  2. My Gremlin was the same color as the green one (we jokingly called it puke green). I won it at a Las Vegas night in the early 80s. It was a 2-seater and there was a big hole in the driver-side floor, it had a loose piece of metal that sat over it. In Winter it was the coldest car I ever drove. I sold it to a friend for $100.

  3. Jay Leno broke down on the side of the road in a Gremlin. 🤣

I was a car salesman in the 70s. One time I pissed my boss off and he took my demo away from me made me drive a Gremlin for punishment. I was humiliated.

  4. When you take the Gremlin to Pebble Beach do they knock off points for changing the carburetor and the exhaust? 🤣

  5. jay, you had the emergency blinkers on we don t know which way you are turning.

  6. In 73' a friend of mine had a new Gremlin he used for college. The trip from Big Rapids, Mi to Lansing, Mi was a little over 100 miles. On his weekend commute, in Winter, to our home town, I can remember how bad the seats were. The same commute in the Spring or Fall on my 73' 750 Triumph was less fatiguing.

  7. My mom had two Gremlins. The first was a Levi edition. The second is the only car I've driven on two wheels. It's a little top heavy.

  8. Those cars with the 343 and 3.55 gear were an insane fast ride .. the short wheelbase made it feel like it was going faster then it really was.it needs a 4 speed and some gear to be truly what it was meant to be by the designer

  9. Great vid guys. I thought twice though before watching. I laughed and groaned all through it. My first car was a 71 plain janer Gremlin. I can safely say that no babe would have been caught dead in that old dorky car. It brought back memories when Jeff’s Levi X peetered out. Sadly, I traded for a 73 Pinto. A horse drawn wagon would have more pep that that poc. The Gremlin despite its dorky tank design definitely performed better. Those were the days. Always envied the Vega owners until I saw them pull up at the gas station to check the gasoline level and fill it with oil! Those were the days to be young and dumb!
