Dana White Can’t Be Mad at Jose Aldo This Time | SiriusXM | Luke Thomas

Jose Aldo faces Renato Moicano in the first UFC on ESPN+ card of 2019, but not in the main event. That role will be filled by Raphael Assuncao vs. Marlon Maroes 2. UFC President Dana White said at UFC 232 that Aldo should be in the main event, but had personally requested not to be. There’s a very good reason for Aldo’s call and it’s a point first raised by Chael Sonnen.

  1. Luke “5 rounds, 5 rounds, 4 rounds, 13 seconds” Thomas

  2. This is why boxing went to 12 from 15…due to the damage fighters were taking…I forget the fighter name but it was a Japanese fighter who died after a 15 rounder

  3. Jose cant hang with these younger guys for 5 rounds i think,he does ok for 2 rounds and tapers fast off.holloway exploted this perfectly in both their fights in letting jose attack and spend lots of gas in 1st round and the just turn the tide hard in the next rounds.when jose starts loosing hes done and out. 3 rounds fits him great. his murking off stephens was a perfect win for jose where he knew he only needed to last for 3×5 minutes and boy did he use them well.

  4. 'you dont say no to Jose Aldo'
Unless he wants a rematch after losing his title after SIX years.

  5. Luke wont even try to pronounce the place in Brasil, but he will leap at correcting you about medellin even if you didnt bring it up.

  6. I think Dana was stuck between telling the truth, and looking like he disrespected Aldo by not giving him the main event spot.

  7. How much does Luke bench squat and dead lift I wonder? And what level bjj is he at? I’ve always wondered that …he looks like a big dude. Like 6’3 n 250 ish??
