Dana White Can’t Be Mad at Jose Aldo This Time | SiriusXM | Luke Thomas

Jose Aldo faces Renato Moicano in the first UFC on ESPN+ card of 2019, but not in the main event. That role will be filled by Raphael Assuncao vs. Marlon Maroes 2. UFC President Dana White said at UFC 232 that Aldo should be in the main event, but had personally requested not to be. There’s a very good reason for Aldo’s call and it’s a point first raised by Chael Sonnen.

  1. It is weird that the important fights are 66% longer for no discernible reason other than gore.

  2. Difficult opponent, mileage, tendency to fade late (even early in the Holloway fights), age, pay. Sounds reasonable to me.

  3. For a country min I was ready to throw my rattle out the pram but your right. Max Vr T money is a perfect example.

  4. Aldo haters can suck ass. You try being undefeated for 10 years and champ for 4 or 5 years straight while only fighting #1-3 ranked guys for years on end. Preparing for 5 rounds for every fight. I'd want a break too, especially if I'm not getting paid championship money.
