Conor McGregor and UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov faced punishment from the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) on Tuesday for their respective roles in the melee following their fight at UFC 229 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The NAC fined McGregor $50,000 and suspended him six months retroactive to the day of their fight.
Nurmagomedov was fined a whopping $500,000 and given a nine-month suspension, but that can be reduced to six if he does a NAC-approved anti-bullying PSA. The suspensions aren’t a problem, but the fines are and so is the NAC’s declaration that speech from fighters should be curtailed.
What Khabib did was similar to the Ron Artest shit in the NBA and Arest got WAYYY worse punishment but keep acting like its different from other sports.
If I were Khabib, I would never fight in Nevada again, they would never make a damn penny off of me again, never in my life. And if UFC do not help him pay it off, I would not fight in UFC again neither.

Luke, I'm surprised you agree with the people that think Khabib is the one who "bears" the burden of responsibility for this whole peanut cluster. All he did was jump out of a cage and eagle-bear land next to Dillon Danis. Danis then started swinging immediately on Khabib. Can any of us prove that Khabib's intention was to do physical violence?If Aldo would have immediately started swinging on Mcgregor, would we have blamed Mcg? Then, pan back to the cage where Mcg tries to jump over to join in. He is stopped by an NSAC guy, then notices that Abubakar Nurmagomedov is next to him and strikes him unprovoked…If anything, the blame is equal, and the commission should act accordingly.
Is this suspension only good in Nevada, USA, Global? Could he fight anywhere before that?
