Conor McGregor, Khabib Nurmagomedov Fined and Suspended

Conor McGregor and UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov faced punishment from the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) on Tuesday for their respective roles in the melee following their fight at UFC 229 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The NAC fined McGregor $50,000 and suspended him six months retroactive to the day of their fight.

Nurmagomedov was fined a whopping $500,000 and given a nine-month suspension, but that can be reduced to six if he does a NAC-approved anti-bullying PSA. The suspensions aren’t a problem, but the fines are and so is the NAC’s declaration that speech from fighters should be curtailed.

  1. and why are people acting like khabib didn't start everything he slapped conor teammate and even before that he got on the mic and shamed Ireland and called conor a chicken for no reason so stop with the bull shit like khabibs a great guy

  2. If I was Khabib I would never fight in Vegas again! F>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> them

  3. I don't understand what he means about fighters not having the right to an independent arbitrator. Novitsky said it was taking place in arbitrated court. So you can only use their specified list of arbitrators?

  4. 500k is completely unreasonable. That was 25% of his purse. 5% would have been fair that’s like 100k. NSAC loves to rob these fighters this isn’t first time they over fined someone. If I was Khabib I wouldn’t pay it but don’t they have his purse, so they just may take it. If he got his purse thou I just wouldn’t pay it and never fight in Nevada again. Conor’s fine was reasonable. I guess the fact he didn’t leave cage is a big point but not 450k worth.

  5. In reality Conor was 100 percent responsible by Bullying and they want Khabib to do a Bullying Course or whatever!!!! Lmfao

  6. Well not to sound like Im riding on conors nuts, and I certainly will be accused of such.. but break it down. Khabib leaped over the octogon and left the cage, which fighters are suppose to be fined for anyway, then he attacked a corner man in a stadium full of people. While conor attempted to leave the cage, he did not. He may have punched khabibs team but none of them should have been in the cage or climbing over the fence of the cage. And throwing the first punch may not look like self defense but in this situation it most certainly was. Regardless of the history of conor and his rage, khabib risked a stadium full of people.

  7. too long didn't watch:

life isn't fair, and that includes the judicial system
