  1. I always appreciate a bit of history, even a modded one. We just bought a 2019 Mini Countryman S, which seems light years away from this. I have to admit it's fun to drive too!!! Back on topic, interesting vid… I like to know the history of things and I'm not quite sure what I learned here other than things have changed quite a bit

  2. These Bonneville guys have a real passion, and the one's I've met are all a little nuts… eat, sleep , and dream about getting another 10 mph..

  3. Really good show. Top Gear for grown ups. First car I drove was a mate's mini. A lot of young lads were obsessed with them in the 80s and there was always a huge after market for gas flowed heads, special carbs, performance air filters and the like. Problem in the UK is that even the most minor modification invalidates your insurance.

  4. In the 60s Road and Track reviewed a factory performance package though I forget if it was an Austin or Morris. But it was quite fast by sports car standards in addition to the handling. It was a hot little car.

  5. I had a mildly hot rodded Mini Traveler when I was stationed in East Anglia. Great fun! It was reliable, too.

  6. radios in cars bikers dont need them its nice to ride with your brain buzzing and full concentraition i drive this way too no radio i have driven with sex pistols at full vol but it dont do anything for driving talk about road rage i always get it car or bike whats the answer less cars be a start cycling and train travel oh freedom and our love of motors is great and the mastery of the road in our dna road fellowship waving a car out at juncktions we dont barge walking in the street we say exscuse me cars are like shells we think we are safe it a well known fact bikers make better drivers they think out the tin shell take care drive safe

  7. The roads around the Burbank Airport are really light and enjoyable for these little cars.
