Dan Hooker Deserved Better at UFC on FOX 31 | SiriusXM | Luke Thomas

At UFC on FOX 31, Edson Barboza defeated Dan Hooker, but not before Hooker took minute after minute of a completely unnecessary beating. Neither the referee nor his corner stopped the bout in a timely fashion. What’s the lesson here? The sport has a culture that rewards this behavior and until that changes, these kinds of outrageous maulings will continue until something catastrophic happens.

The Luke Thomas Show airs weekdays, 3 to 6pm ET, on SiriusXM RUSH, channel 93.

  1. I just re watched the fight, You defiantly cant stop the fight after round 2, Hooker was competitive, had top position was landing hooks, step in elbows was dodging and blocking shots, You could only stop the fight on fatigue at this point, he visibly looks fatigued but it was still a competitive round 2.

  2. Oh shit is this not the fight game. The point is he always has a punchers chance and this is a fight

  3. I totally agree with Luke. I think that fight probably ends Hooker's career. He will not be the same after this.

  4. Barbosa and Hooker are sum bad mofo's … Barbosa vs Al or Poirier. And Lee vs Anthony Pettis

  5. After watching round 3 again, the fight was stopped at the right time. Hooker was competitive round 3, had him against the cage, it only started after the spinning back kick to the gut and had about 1 min on the edge of being stopped but Barbarossa was not landing enough to stop it. everyone would have been complaining it was stopped early. you can only stop the fight by the look of fatigue and pain on hookers face hooker was marching forward. Cormiers commentary was over hyped, they could just tell by the look of dan hookers body language but not the actual fighting. So the real question should be can you stop a fight by the look of fatigue and pain on a fighters face? Fatigue is probably just as bad as a closed eye.

  6. Hey Luke I'm picking up wat ur laying dwn my friend guess ppl love a great comeback so they let it go on in case it happens
