Bellator’s Paul Daley vs. MVP *NOT* in the UK? | SiriusXM | Luke Thomas

Bellator has reportedly booked Michael ‘Venom’ Page vs. Paul ‘Semtex’ Daley for the quarterfinals of the welterweight grand prix. Generally speaking, this is great news. It’s part of a fantastic tournament, a competitive fight, true grudge match and so much more. The only problem is you’ll have two British fighters competing in Connecticut, not the United Kingdom. And even then, that’s not the worst problem to have, but when there’s pressure on fans to just accept that some of Bellator’s partners really wanted the fight stateside, there is a problem. Fans should be appreciative the fight is being made, but they’re not wrong to not subvert their interests to DAZN’s or the Mohegan Sun’s.

The Luke Thomas Show airs weekdays, 3 to 6pm ET, on SiriusXM RUSH, channel 93.

  1. As an American I'd rather see it in the U.K. Because the crowd was so hyped last time MVP fought there it made the fight better.

  2. This video is way too long for the subject matter. Try not to repeat the same points over and over just to fill time.

  3. I hate when people take the side and defend corporations its annoying they dont give a shit about you. They should do the best thing for the consumers so yes fans should complain if they dont agree

  4. I've never understood why anyone cared where a fight takes place. The fight is the same fight no matter where it happens. I guess altitude might make a difference, but if the argument isn't about altitude, i don't understand why anyone cares even a little bit about where it is.

  5. I don't know why you keep saying the UK. You'd want the fight in England. London or Nottingham. The rest of the united kingdom wouldn't give a shit.

  6. I attended ufc 204. An event that STARTED at midnight. Being an MMA fan in the uk takes years off your life…

  7. I live Ireland.. I love that it comes on so late.. Everyone who doesn't care goes to bed.. Sit down.. Watch the fights.

  8. Everytime Bellator could have taken a big step forward under Scott Coker, he's managed everytime to guarantee that Bellator takes one step back with the most puzzling decisions. There is no promoter in MMA, other than Scott Coker that would put MVP vs Paul Daley in Connecticut. And remember the winner fights Douglas Lima, meaning Lima will have waited five months just to see who is opponent is going to be in a Tournament. Meaning by the time Lima fights again, he will most likely have waited 10 months in between fights while being in a Tournament. Scott Coker, a great talent scout and fighter developer, but not so good as a promoter.
