Where did you find those exotic '60s Lola GT tail lamps? 😉
Nice job Nice people
the green color looks al ot like the green of the British great western railway trains
In the 1960s (in UK) my dad would hire a car for a week every Summer for the family's annual caravan holiday in Wales (like many in the UK we did not own a car back then). We kids always got excited about what type of car it would be and were usually very happy to see it was a cortina. Just an ordinary cortina, not a Lotus, but seeing the shape and cabin of this one brings back memories. History has given us all a different perspective on the whole Mk1 vs Mk2 thing; these days most folk will see the Mk1 as the classic format but the first year we got the brand new Mk2 we were well chuffed: ultra modern we were all agreed.
Jay says these were 300 – 400 dollar cars when they came out. In your dreams ! The MK 1 standard Ford Cortina on the road price in the UK was £650.00 when they were first introduced.
15:00 … Brembo does make a 9" solid rotor. I have them on my 1976 Mercury Capri…the Cortina Fastback.
Shame there was never a Mk3 Lotus Cortina, they were the best looking model
Always nice to see Jay have a little hail-fellow-well-met banter with his butler.
As a youngster I had 1.2L MK1 but it was white so I had to add the green buts to make it look like a Lotus although not having any money I hand painted it with a tin of household paint so the Lotus look required a bit of squinting lol
LOTUS Lots Of Trouble Usually Serious.
