  1. This man has impeccable taste in cars! I would love to see him drive more british fords like the old the Sierra cosworth, or my personal favourite british car the metro 6r4.

  2. A friend of mine used to buy cars, fix them and flip them. One of those was a 1965 Lotus Cortina. It was my first experience with the car and I just thought it looked like a ehhh car. He let me drive it, and I completely fell in love with it. It was quick, crisp, and handled like a slot car. I look at them very differently now.

  3. My husband was elated when he saw this car. We had this car in sedan in our country Trinidad and Tobago. When he was in the Defence Force, there was a gentleman who worked taxi with one on the Arima to Centeno routes at nights. This was in the early 1980s. Wow, seeing this car was a joy for him. We had the model with the chrome finishers on the side. A strong car with wonderful history

  4. I worked for Lotus for about 14 years, but it was only recently that my Dad told me he had a Lotus Cortina in the 60s But that was before I was born (of course)

  5. Wow, what a beautiful little car.
My very first car was a 1966 Ford Cortina GT. It was a very dark green. I bought it in 1929 and drove it for about three years. It was a super fun car but a maintenance nightmare. Still, it was my first and I loved it. I enjoyed this video as it brought back some good memories.
    Thank you.

  6. Put a tremec in it???
Sorry Jay, as good as a tremec may be, the box hanging off the Lotus Twin-Cam is a ripper.
    Jim knows his stuff.

  7. I had a Lotus Cortina in 1982. I paid £900 for it. I stank of petrol and was one of the most unreliable cars I owned, next to the Mark 4 Cortina 2.3 ghia I had a few years later. I wouldn't give you tuppence for either.

  8. Lovely video guys, glad I am still here to appreciate it, TY
