Is Anderson Silva Being ‘Fed’ to Israel Adesanya? | SiriusXM | Luke Thomas

At UFC 234, Anderson Silva will face Israel Adesanya in the co-main event. Silva, the former middleweight champion, believes he’ll get a title shot, but either winner could conceivably get it. The bigger point as raised by Ben Fowlkes in a MMA Junkie article is why this dynamic of young feasting on the old happens in combat sports. As I explain here, there’s simply no other way around it even in cases like Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo where both fighters are in their twenties.

The Luke Thomas Show airs weekdays, 3 to 6pm ET, on SiriusXM RUSH, channel 93.

  1. My brother always told me dont fight old people they have that old people strength , 43 years nothing to lose everything to gain , his mindset is two more legendary fights thats all, two and your champion!! Come on you dont think he practicing doing spinning shit right now

  2. On Rogan's podcast he said Silva was a legend and he didn't want the fight. Earned a lot of respect from me. What TF happened to that???????????????????????

  3. @luke also/McGregor was a good comparison to not feeding the young with the old..but I think Anderson rise would be a better comparison since he is the other dance partner. Anderson popularity was gained by sheerly winning with style. He just simply outclassed everyone UFC put in front of him.

  4. Could Anderson Silva be much better than we think as an older fighter? It’s a relevant question because he was last in there with Brunson…

  5. Dude Anderson is NOT chuck Liddell! I’m not going to be fucken surprised if Silva beats Adesanya

  6. I agree. Jon Jones' legend would not be what it is had he not slaughtered a bunch of prestigious legends. Still hope Anderson wins tho.

  7. if adesanya loses, the fans will say he was overhyped, and if he wins those same fans will say that "beating an old Anderson Silva isn't that impressive". mma has the worst fanbase ever.
