If we have come to the point were the UFC is matching up Conor vs and aging Cowboy to get match-points…..well its shows the end of the Notorious One…..he went from taking challenges to having his ass licked/wiped clean by servants to protect his image….sadly his image has been exposed….what a waste of a star…a star that once was bright in the eyes of real MMA fans…Paper Fans burn with a whiff of a flame….so I guess its all about the money and "slow" people willing to burn their funds.

If the path DOES NOT go Khabib/Ferguson it's gotta be one of a few things; the UFC doesn't want to book a cursed fight that's been cancelled so many times (While valid, it's a dumb standpoint considering the money it would make); Khabib doesn't want to fight for the UFC again (or against Ferguson, both of which I find unrealistic & unlikely); OR they have another big fight planned & want Khabib in it.
I personally hope it does happen, I think Khabib vs Ferguson is REQUIRED to determine who the best Lightweight actually is. Do I think Khabib deserves to be the champion? Without a doubt, but Ferguson never lost his & was on an incredible streak before his injury, he is the most deserving of a title shot/getting his title back of anyone in the UFC (now that DJ is gone I think that's without question).
The only thing I see being an issue for a McGregor/Cerrone fight is the press conferences wouldn't be typical Conor mayhem, I don't see him trash talking him on the level he's done so many others who were people he considered beneath him. But, I could be wrong. The "selling it" aspect of that fight is skewed for me, but it would definitely be entertaining & a well deserved pay day for Cerrone.
I think 2019 will play out like this:
Khabib vs. Tony
Conor vs. Dustin 2. Dustin has dramatically improved over the last 3 years and he is FAST like Conor but more technical and diverse now than before.
Ragin Al vs. Kevin Lee(december)
Barboza vs. Gaethje
Pettis vs. Michael Chandler.
2019 needs to be like this for the real fans.

Khabib wants big number for his next fight. UFC and Conor will show that Conor vs. anybody will do much higher PPV than Khabib vs. Tony. UFC will not give Khabib big number. He's not a big draw.
