UFC middleweight Chris Weidman calls in to Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show to discuss his UFC 230 fight against Luke Rockhold being cancelled, saying he was initially “pissed” about this because he prepared to take on Rockhold and talks about if he is feeling let down that the rematch isn’t happening. Weidman expresses his thoughts on his new opponent for UFC 230, Ronald “Jacare” Souza for the co-main event and how he was prepared to take on anybody, but Souza was the only fighter the UFC approached him with. Weidman explains that if he beats Souza on November 3, he will be going for the middleweight title in his next fight. Weidman expresses whether he is going to have any ring rust leading into this fight after a long layoff since his last bout. Weidman details his relationship with actor Kevin James, who he has become great friends with and says James is a mentor to him. Weidman also describes what it is like working out with New York Knicks center Enes Kanter.

It's funny. How Anderson under estimates and loses to weisman. Weidman throws a silly spinning back kick and loses to Luke. Luke's gets silly and under estimates bisping and gets killed. Well bisping lost fair and square to gsp. Gsp gives up title and Whittaker gets it.

Gotta love how Chris Weidman says he deserves a title shot yet he is 1-3 yet he deserves a title shot, I don't think so how on Earth does he deserve a title shot with a win cause that still puts him at 2-3 get outta here. I happen to like Chris Weidman and I think he is up there as a contender but he needs to fight Rockhold and redeem himself, fight Romero or the loser of Whittaker vs Gastellum. But Weidman has to understand he needs to be out of the negative first.
