Whoever is perceived to be the best is…


Often the athletes we call the “greatest” are the ones who receive the most amount of promotion. With a lack of a competitive architecture to determine who is actually the best, fans often default to those who receives the most press. Chael Sonnen gives his thoughts on his You’re Welcome podcast.

  3. Weak bridge on the sponsorships make better players thing. Here’s the thing. MMA is a primal exercise. It’s something in which “rules” are relaxed. The whole point of a game is to make things even so you can keep a tally of who is incrementally better. MMA is not like this. There are too many variables. If you’re a non-combat sports athlete and you’re exceptional you will be famous the majority of the time.
