83 Weeks #16: Randy Savage’s 1995 in WCW!

OHHHHHH YEAAAAAAH! Eric believes Hogan and Savage were almost interchageable as THE top star in the business. So it’s no wonder he wanted the “Macho Man” in WCW. Find out when he was “sold” on Savage once he was in power, who introduced the two, the details of how his deal was put together, where Slim Jim fit in, what concerns existed based on the Hogan-Savage relationship, why he was debuted the way he was, comparing the Hogan debut to his, how he got along with Sting, why he worked the early opponents he did, when Eric heard “the rumor” about Savage, what Savage told Eric, the four star match with Flair on PPV, the craziest thing you’ve ever heard about Steve Austin in WCW, why Savage never pinned Hogan clean, how Savage was at home, when and how Lanny was signed, why Angelo was booked in ’95, who put Flair in drag, his relationship with Liz, and of course the very interesting finish to World World War 3 in ’95 when Savage won the title for the first time. SNAP INTO IT!

  1. Eric Bischoff's any Content at WWE Network would draw massive viewers, old school viewers who are constantly searching the depths of youtube/network for the great WCW/WAR TIMES/ANALYSIS/NASH-HALL ERA.

  2. Savage was AMAZING, phenomenally talented! I was born in 79, so I was lucky and blessed enough to experience a lot of his angles and Matches….From his match with Steamboat, to the Mega Powers exploding, His Wedding at Wrestlemania, and his years in WCW. Wow I'm Grateful that I grew up in the 80s….

  3. For a guy who doesn't care about what others think, Eric really cares about what others think.

  4. Great episode and it makes me like Randy Savage even more. Eric's interactions with Savage just adds to the fact he was a real stand up guy and a real man.

  5. Haven’t listened to this yet, but I have to say (so far) the main difference between this and STW is that Bruce was in the business because he loved the business. As a result, he remembers vividly his time in the business. Eric was thrust into his position and was running someone else’s business and it was just another’s job to him. As a result, he has a rather fuzzy memory of his time…. lots of stuff he doesn’t recall (which seems convenient at times, let’s be honest).. and seems to just want to put himself over. I haven’t been listening to this as much since the Jericho episode. Maybe it’s improved.

  6. I ordered a Eric bischoff shirt for my kid cousin he never called not cool … so I than ordered a Bruce Prichard shirt … I did get a call but from Tom Prichard not Bruce … I went to hand over the phone and my kid cousin waved it off,he wanted to talk to Bruce not Tom … it was a little awkward so I rushed phone call… Tom was a nice guy but won’t be ordering again from either
