The greatest businesses all made pivots at some point. Most of them saw issues coming and pivoted to stay ahead of those issues. The UFC is going back down the pro wrestling rabbit hole because they don’t have the ability to pivot into becoming a legit sport. What they are doing isn’t working so they go back down the same rabbit hole again. It’s either a sport or sports entertainment. You can’t have your cake and eat it too.
Imagine the Jacksonville Jaguars going undefeated and winning the AFC championship game. They get ready for the Superbowl only to have Roger Goodell say New England is going to represent the AFC because they bring in a larger audience.
I think this era of superfights will be looked back on as quick cash grabs. It's fun but it's hardly the path with the most integrity.
Lesnars last fight was a no contest. The two fights before that were losses. If DC beats him does he get to take another year off then come back and fight for the title again? Mockery.
