Hiroshi Tanahashi’s latest reign as IWGP champion came to an end in his very first title defense. Solomonster talks about the match, the radio contest for Wrestlemania tickets that got Jay White back into wrestling, who may challenge him for the title at MSG and Kota Ibushi’s new contract with NJPW.

  1. Laughing at all the sour tarts and their salty comments about Jay White. Please continue dummies, your tears will only fuel my laughter and my joy.

  2. If you think Jay White is “boring and vanilla” you must not be watching any of his promos or matches. Excellent heel, the leader to bring Bullet Club back to their dastardly ways.

  3. Guys, Gedo ain’t Vince. Jay White’s been slugging it for a while now whereas Roman was thrusted into the main event with barely anything(though luckily he got much better as time went on. Wish him well against cancer). That and the parallels between him and Okada are uncanny.

  4. Happy jay whites the man maybe it was to soon but im happy regardless i just hope he has a great match at MSG. I personally think that Ibushi would be a better opponent for that show

  5. I didn’t think it would happen this soon. Thought maybe at G1 Supercard. White would enter the New Japan Cup and challenge for the title at MSG.

  6. I'm glad Jay White won. I've been in Jay's camp since he knocked down JR at the G1 special in San Fran. I don't think it's too soon at all the way they've been booking him. A loss would've heavily deflated his balloon. Gotta strike while the iron is hot. Dude's good on the mic, good in the ring, and just carries himself like a natural heel. Can't wait to see what the Switchblade does with the belt. I also think Ibushi challenges him at MSG.
