Georges St-Pierre (GSP): The Best to Ever Do It

Georges St-Pierre (GSP) retired on Thursday in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. In my judgement, he’s not merely the best fighter ever in mixed martial arts (MMA) history, but had one of the best-executed professional careers we’ve ever seen. From his debut to ascension to reign to sabbatical to return to retirement, no one has ever done it quite like GSP.

Winning UFC titles in the welterweight and middleweight division in the champ champ era was important, but so is having the most title defenses ever. He’s done both, both accomplishments each of their own era. There were never scandals around his name, no run-ins with anti-doping authorities, nothing. While he butted heads with UFC President Dana White, he always did right by the sport. He is the greatest of all time.

  1. shut up luke! gsp is the best to cheat heavily and get away with it. from greasing to steroids. usada came o board, gsp "quit" usada can now test for picograms of banned substances, gsp "quits" again. fought 1 time since usada. cherry picked that fight and had no "normal" gsp stamina! to much coincidences eh? never challenged himself by moving up a weight class, minus bisping, the cherry picked fight. lost to hendrix (clearly)and lost to bj in their first fight (debatable) but 100% was caught greasing in the second penn fight. dude was on so much gear he has gyno and a bubble gut. none of those anyone should have when ur as lean as gsp.

  2. But he did not take The biggest Challenge when he was on top and The spider was on top, and that is why he is not The GOAT

  3. Wait, I thought Jon Jones is the best ever…
Wait they say Anderson Silva is the best ever…..no wait Fedor is the best ever? Which one is it? These guys say everybody is the best!

  4. I hate to say it, but Jon Jones is by far the greatest MMA fighter. GSP is second. Just my opinion.

  5. Goat St Pierre

In terms of combat sports, we have never seen a GSP so that tells me we will probably not see another one, unless someone decided to follow his blue print.
