The UFC has many excellent color commentators. Fighters like Daniel Cormier and Paul Felder are two particular favorites. Dominick Cruz, however, is the best of the bunch. His style earns criticism from people who don’t read books and just want an auctioneer or master of ceremonies to mindlessly entertain them. Those who watch fights and rely on color commentators to help explain the action (and read books), however, realize Cruz is peerless. Sure, he focuses on underhooks, but only because he’s right to do so. Pound sand, haters.

Can't take Cruz seriously after he insisted that Conor was making Khabib tired by letting him use his face as a punching bag. Just can't.

I agree that Cruz is the best color commentator, but I found that he stumbled a lot during the ESPN show. It stood out to me because it was entirely uncharacteristic of him.
i think they all have their benefits. but im a pretty easy going guy with a decent amount of fight iq
Just being technically correct doesn't make you enjoyable to listen to. He's an incredibly annoying personality. We are looking to enjoy an event, not to learn to replicate the fight.
