Colby Covington, the former interim UFC welterweight champion, is threatening a lawsuit against the UFC if he doesn’t get what he believes he’s owed. Specifically, that his next fight is for a title and the a paycheck commensurate with that opportunity. Here’s the problem: UFC President Dana White has essentially stated Covington has to get to the back of the line. Is this a strategy Covington can realistically use? As I explain in this video, no, it’s really not. Even his rival and current champion Tyron Woodley, who has had his own run-ins with the UFC, counsels against it.

I hope Dana just keeps him on contract and doesn't give him any fights. You can only talk so much shit and duck so many fights. The thing I find the dumbest here is everyone says Colby deserved this when he wasn't even willing to do it. He got surgery instead of fighting Woodley, then when Woodley gets surgery he is just talking shit about how Woodley is ducking him and then just before the Usman fight got announced Colby was still going on about how scared Woodley was to fight him and that he was faking a thumb injury even though Woodley was down to fight him and get a contract signed. Well guess what? Colby never signed it, kept talking shit so of course the UFC is gonna give him a big fuck you and book someone else. Colby brought this all on himself because unlike Conor or Chael he has an IQ lower than room temp and couldn't see he went to far.
