Greg Hardy ‘Looked For a Way Out’?

NFL All Pro turned UFC heavyweight Greg Hardy made his UFC debut at UFC Brooklyn (UFC on ESPN+ 1), but lost via disqualification after illegally kneeing his opponent Allen Crowder when he was down. Some have suggested Hardy, after facing some adversity, was ‘looking for a way out’.

While I can’t dismiss the theory, I don’t think it’s the best and simplest explanation for what likely happened given what we know about fighters with relatively little professional experience in high stress situations.

  1. Everybody expecting an apology these days. Only one who deserves one is his ex girlfriend.

  2. I think Hardy did it intentionally. Moments before Crowder was talking trash and picking Hardy apart. I think Hardy did it out of frustration.

  3. Let's just feed Hardy to Francis send him to Bellaire already it's a joke

  4. Peeps wanna suggest that was an amateur move… lets b real guys he was defendin takedowns and doin the rite things on his feet… when crowder startin mockin him cuz he couldnt strike hard anymore, AND there was a whole other round left, and already gassed… all of a sudden hardy doesnt know the rules????… hardy did well for debut but comn guys sky is blue aint it????

  5. Greg Hardy keep hustling keep grinding, screw all the h8ers, head up ten toes 💪💯

  6. I don't think he was looking for a way out in terms of quitting but he needed the fight to be over. He was already huffing and puffing badly in Round 2 and the athleticism required to stuff that takedown just by running backwards and balancing surely sapped him even more. I think he knew his time was short and he needed to end the fight. I don't think the intention was to cheat but he was so overwhelmed at that point he may not have been thinking of anything else.

  7. Jey crowder was fighting with his hands down showing ni respect. Thats his fault defend your sekf at all times. And Greg Hardy is not cm punk he is a fighter hr was in the fight. Crowder should take rematch or is he scared. I do agree with the inexperienced fighter theory and yku suggesting fighters to go to places with expierienced refs and blood testing.
