The illegal fights he is referring to, are what people call “smoker” fights. Where gyms took their amateurs to compete to prepare for the high level amateurs. Due to those events not being sanctioned by any committees and no officials were present at said events. People were injured with no medical response on site and the promoters in charge were punished by the law.
