TRT, Jones-UFC-USADA Controversy, How We Move On | SiriusXM | Luke Thomas

This anti-doping craze currently affecting mixed martial arts (MMA) starts with the overcorrection to get rid of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) abuse. UFC jumped into the arms of USADA, but that only created a new set of problems: uneven justice, incomplete science, harsh penalties and more. Now with UFC 232 on the horizon and Jon Jones bringing these issues into stark relief, we have to ask ourselves how we move on from this. My idea is to adopt the posture of the other sports leagues. I use the ‘reservoir’ theory from political science to make my case. This situation is partly the media’s fault, but also a self-inflicted wound by the UFC. The way forward is knowable and replicable.

The Luke Thomas Show airs weekdays, 3 to 6pm ET, on SiriusXM RUSH, channel 93.

  1. I don’t think Jon recognizes just how much his image is fucked forever after this. His PPV #s will precipitously decline from here on out and Dana will drive nails into his legacy the moment he no longer sells

  2. ok if you dont test antidoping is not an issue for the fans ,true but if you do test your athletes you cant test some and dont test others its not fair

  3. Do y'all realize that Nick Diaz's career was ruined because he smoked some pot, but Jones has been juicing and getting caught while USADA and the UFC cover for him. Absolutely disgusting.

  4. I love Luke, and actually agree with him on this topic, but the, “it’s the current year” argument drives me insane

  5. Jon jones ruined the sport like african americans ruin a good city when they move in. …….no homo

  6. if the argument for antidoping policies were that of being fair and not let the people with more money game the system because they had the better drugs, now we have the same cheaters doing the same drugs and the poor are the ones getting caught, i say let them pump those needles and be at peace with it, let them all roid up

  7. Luke is always talking about the legitimacy of drug testing which is a legit question too ask in many ways but the bottom line is EVERYONE is tested under this program NOW and its not fair different guys are getting different punishments for the SAME THING!! Get rid of drug testing for all I care but don't just give this guy special treatment because hes the best and that goes for anyone who's defending him at all , if he still has drugs he took in his system under these rules he shouldnt be fighting
