Jon Jones-UFC 232-USADA Q&A | Luke Thomas

Jon Jones is still set to face Alexander Gustafsson for the UFC light heavyweight title, but now it’ll be in California instead of Nevada. Jones had what the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) call an ‘atypical finding’, meaning a trace amount of turinabol – the same substance for which he had just completed a 15-month suspension – in his system again. Nevada couldn’t or wouldn’t give him a license, California would, so on six-days notice, the show was moved. What do we make of these developments? I’ll share my thoughts and take your questions in this Q&A.

  1. Yeah probably should have not released that video yesterday as if you were actually creating content on Christmas eve. And also blaming staff for it not being higher quality.

  2. Funniest thing is Dana saying who the F would license chuck vs Tito. Ummm same people who license Jon jones ….Cali hahahaha

  3. Why the fuck did this even get brought up? I can't believe some of these fighters don't sue. USADA really needs to figure it out. Just like last time: they knew he wasn't taking anything for performance enhancing. Ruined a guys career for no reason. I can't believe the UFC lets this continue. It's not that hard to figure out. It's no different than getting a DUI: .07 means you're still ok to drive.

  4. Mir and Jones doped at Jacksons mma,and testing caught up to them, after they stopped their doping cycle's.

  5. If an athlete has any amount of a banned substance still in their system, that’s a positive result. Trying to explain it away with a bunch of mental gymnastics and shady “science” (that isn’t science at all. Nothing in the scientific literature describing a “pulsing effect” of Turinabol or its metabolites). The bottom line is that Jones chose to take Turinabol and he should be suspended until he can produce a year of clean, random tests (paid for out of his own pocket). If they let this fight happen, I’m 100% done with UFC.
