  1. This is my sort of car I appreciate!
Uniquely classic Japanese in character, I can see it's 1960s roots.
I agree, velour is where it's at when it comes to luxury. I can't understand the obsessing with having animal skins as the material of choice.
That guy is impressive with how he has an intimate understanding of what this car is all about.
Those shades are indeed effective in giving privacy. I have lace curtains where I live and when outside, you can't see a thing what's going on inside even though the room is well lit from the day time.
That engine sounded so sweet and subdued, just as it should be.

  2. If you don't know what something is, don't fool people. Rather than lie, it's OK to say "Sorry, I don't know." At 6:50, Jay Leno asks what that green stiker on the top left corner of the windshield is, and the guy says it's the registration sticker. Well, NOT TRUE! That is the mandatory inspection sticker. The number 29 in the center represents the Japanese calendar year (Heisei) conversion from the Western calendar year 2017, and the highlighted 6 is the month the inspection expired (June).

  3. What a hideous piece of crap. Only 190HP form 4 litres, a cloth interior and lace curtains like it's Grand Ma's cottage. It's also built like a cheap biscuit tin. I love all the excuses the importer is making, underrated engine, humidity concerns and shutting the driver's door so gently as he knows how the body will sound if he slams it. No bloody bank vault, that's for sure. LS400 is the only convincing actual luxury car Toyota ever pulled off. One car then they immediately reverted to chintzy rubbish
