1955 Ferrari 500 Mondial Series II – Jay Leno’s Garage

Admiral Robert Phillips gives Jay his love story with this very special race car that he has owned for 58 years, which is the longest continuous ownership of a competition Ferrari. This Ferrari will be available at Gooding & Company’s 2018 Pebble Beach Auctions and maybe you could be the lucky owner of this historic marque.

  1. I would’ve never sold it. I would pass it down in my family. Regardless, the video shows a great story, man, and car.

  2. I met this gentleman at the Rockville, MD annual car show a few years ago. He and his wife could not have been more down to earth and nicer to me and the many others that were simply in awe of this car and them as well.

  3. 13:30 not exactly true. Chrysler started experimenting with a hemispherical combustion chamber in at least '53. Even the engine in a '55 DeSoto further proves this: 291ci Hemi.
