  1. Love the Fantastic Four. John Byrne's run as artist and writer in the 80's is an absolute masterwork.

We'll miss you, Stan. 'Nuff said.

  2. Loved me some Marvel. Loved DC to. One of the main reasons my childhood was the greatest!! RIP Stan the MAN!!

  3. Been waiting for you to mention this, you have made many references to superheroes over the years.

  4. A lot of people say that Lee himself took credit for creating those characters and denying credit to guys like Kirby and Ditko, and I always felt that was unfair. Lee was the editor in chief and head writer and for most of those characters, there is a clear paper trail that demonstrates his coming with the initial idea or concept. Then of course there was the collaboration that occurred between him and the artist because of the Marvel Method that Lee introduced where the artist had a lot more input into plotting and conceptualizing the characters than they might have had previously. Plus Stan Lee was the showman who was selling Marvel as an alternative to DC, so naturally he became the face of the company. Also, it was Marvel the company that was responsible for de-emphasizing Kirby and Ditko's credits in an attempt to keep them from getting royalties for their characters, a practice that was vile.
