Jose ‘Shorty’ Torres Reveals UFC Release, Flyweight Division’s End | SiriusXM | Luke Thomas

With Demetrious Johnson off to ONE Championship, the end of the UFC men’s flyweight division was thought to be short lived. Adding fuel to that fire is the release of top prospect Jose ‘Shorty’ Torres, who revealed on Twitter today he’d be cut or released from his UFC contract. Most interestingly, he wasn’t even given the option of moving up to bantamweight. In this interview from my radio show, he reveals what the UFC told him and what could be next.

The Luke Thomas Show airs weekdays, 3 to 6pm ET, on SiriusXM RUSH, channel 93.

  1. Huggy Cehuggo didnt win. u dont need to put on a tinfoil hat or read between the lines to figure out that if it went to decision DJ wouldnt get the nod……..

  2. Double champ at TitanFC doesn’t necessarily equate to a double champ at the UFC

  3. If cejudo goes to 135 he is going to get rocked back to mexico. He will wake up with a corona and a taco on his chest

  4. I guess they won't want to flood bantamweight considering how many flyweights are going to move up if the division closes. Save those spots for the better ones.

  5. Luke is an intelligent guy. I bet you he was DYING not correcting him saying "fair share". Luke was probably screaming "FAIR SHAKE" on the inside haha.

  6. hopefully the divison is at least kept somewhat intact and moved to One. Or all those fights would've been for nothing

  7. I appreciate the gravity of what he's saying but hearing him repeatedly butcher the expression "fair shake" to "fair share" is distracting as fuck.
