Ben Askren will face a top 5 opponent, but at what weight class?

Now that Ben Askren has signed with the UFC, who will hist first opponent be and at what weight class? A few fighters have spoken up stating they are willing to fight him including former welterweight contender Darren Till.

  1. one question remains.. "Just what weight class will Ben Askren fight in?"

  2. I’d like to see Askren v Khabib but if Khabib refuses to show st the NSAC proceeding, they will come down hard on him. Athletic commissions generally have an agreement that if one suspends a fighter then none will allow that fighter to fight in their state (otherwise there would be no teeth in the suspensions). I expect if Khabib doesn’t show he will get an 18 month to 2 year suspension and a 50% fine. If he shows he’ll get a year and 25% of purse. Conor will get six months and 10% of purse since he was not the aggressor in the brawl but did participate. So Ben will likely fight someone like Darren Till (if he fights at 170 again) or possibly Damian Maia. I would also like to see Askren v GSP but I doubt that happens. GSP needs to fight Woodley. By the time Khabib gets off suspension, GSP will have retired.

  3. Such a shame he won't fight Woodley.

He can beat Tyron and it would be nice to finally get rid of that racist a-hole!
The sooner Tyron Woodley is gone the better. Much rather have Ben as the champ. When is Tyron's contract up?

  4. I think Askren is just going to clean out the division, everyone but Woodley and not fight for the title until Woodley loses or retires, then he will fight for the title or he could go middleweight but if he wants to test himself, id say WW

  5. Ben Askren is a good and talented fighter but he doesn't look like a champ

  6. This just begs the question. Will askren be able to cut to 125

  7. I like to picture Chael's mic stand clipped onto a toilet bowl while he's sitting on the floor of the bathroom with his pants off.
