The days of getting rich simply by investing long term end as soon as alternate crypto's came in. Now its a game of playing the market, you have to basically buy low/sell high and constantly be on the ball. Identifying successful new currencies is a good semi-long term way to make bank but not even Ripple will reach Bitcoins plateu.
