Known for its reliability and power, the 1940 Indian Four was considered a luxury motorcycle and with the sidecar attached Jay shows us why.

Beautiful bike Jay . It's suprising to see hovv long the leaf spring fork vvas used for . I've heard that many customers vvouldn't buy a nevv Indian unless it came vv/a leaf spring fork as they vvere considered to be the most comfortable as vvell as reliable front ends, and combined vv/the plunger frame ( so much nicer looking than a soft tail ) and sprung seat must've made it the most comfortable machine on the road . Thank you so much for sharing this Iconic machine . P.S. I read somevvhere ( I think VValnecks classic cycle trader over 20 yrs ago ) that there vvere 2 older Indian 4 riders vvho , as a project , bought 3 engines & split the 3rd to create 2 Indian 6 cylinders that they rode for decades, perhaps you could do a story on these guys ? VVouldn't be suprised if you had 1 of those bikes somevvhere in the back of your garage . TY again .
Love it ! As always these are the best reviews!
I recently bought a little piece of the Indian history even though it is not really an indian? Since it was made in china/taiwan. It is a 1980 Indian moped this was due to the company being sold several times over the years until they went out of bussines for good. I am in the process of restoring it.
Easily the most beautiful American motorcycle ever IMO. The old Harley's come close but no cigar.
I would love that bike if it had a hand-clutch and a foot shifter, minus the sidecar
if the camera goes off we know you have him
Worlds fastest Indian was a good film starring Anthony Hopkins.
Thank you Jay. Good job portraying what it's like to ride that Indian.
CHANGE THE OIL JAY..PRETTY ''BLACK''…GET ON IT…TELL THEM BOYS TO DO THEIR JOB…YOU'RE FIRED…DOH
Indian Motorcycle as a name isn't anything like "Red Skins"
