Ben Askren and Demetrious Johnson Traded in UFC-ONE Deal: Why This Happened | SiriusXM| Luke Thomas

ESPN reported Wednesday that Ben Askren would be ‘traded’ from ONE Championship to the UFC for Demetrious Johnson. The former Bellator and ONE welterweight king will likely be headed to the UFC while the former UFC flyweight and pound-for-pound great Demetrious Johnson will take his talents to Asia. Why is this deal happening? Here’s my theory.

The Luke Thomas Show airs weekdays, 3 to 6pm ET, on SiriusXM RUSH, channel 93.

  1. Yeah I think this just certifies that UFC will be getting rid of flyweight division.

  2. I'm loving these immediate video reactions to mma news – keep them coming man!

  3. Fuck yes I love Ben askren I wanna see askren vs khabib maybe he will go to 155

  4. Get rid of the midgets or move them to 135.. been waiting to see askren vs kabib … gsp … Covington.. hes a wrestler but not a boring one ..his wrestling style is fun too watch.. he pretzels the shit out of people..

  5. If the fighters unionized they can make deals like this possible when they sign contracts… If the fighter under performs in his 1st 2 fights in his 5 fight deal let's say the UFC can trade that guy to let's say bellator for a equal fighter or prospect..This should be done in the summer as like a trading window..

  6. It's going to be really fascinating seeing Ben askren competing in he ufc, the supposed best stable in all of mma. I'm not sure that the casual fans will take to him with his heavy wrestling and grinding style, but no doubt he's going to be a huge problem for the rest of the 170 div, also maybe 185
