83 Weeks #24: Halloween Havoc 1998

Eric and Conrad travel back twenty years to WCW Halloween Havoc ’98! From the opening match between Chris Jericho and Raven, to the WCW World Title main event between Goldberg and Diamond Dallas Page, they leave no stone unturned! What did Eric think of the beginning of Raven’s “spoiled rich kid” angle? Disco Inferno in TWO matches on the card?! Who did Lodi replace in his match with Perry Saturn? What was with the Steiner Bros. calamity? And what about the infamous Hogan-Warrior rematch? Is it still just as bad after all this time? Plus, DDP-Goldberg getting cut short, and how much money Eric thinks that cost WCW. All this plus talk about Hall vs. Nash, Sting vs. Bret Hart, Fit Finlay, Billy Kidman, Buff Bagwell, Wrath, Juventud Guerrera, and so much more!

  1. Honest to god I love Warriors time in WCW and Bretts i'm just a weird person I guess. WCW's 1998 Roster BEST ROSTER in WRESTLING HISTORY!

  2. It's easy to shit on Warrior Hogan these years later but as a kid at the time I marked out for this feud

  3. Only if Russo was around to blame for Warrior in WCW. Nope. If anything, screw ups like this got him hired.

  4. Again, Hogan and Warrior get shit of for that mirror angle, yet Undertaker and Kane have done FAR more ridiculous shit over the years and nobody criticizes just how stupid that was.

  5. The aftermath of this even shows just how lost Bischoff had become. You had a well-received bout in Goldberg/DDP, with WWF having younger stars and now beating you in the ratings here is your chance to give the audience something fresh moving forward. So what does WCW do? Has Goldberg lose at their biggest PPV to Nash, who loses it in the infamous match vs Hogan on Nitro, who then defends against Flair at the next PPV. What a perfect way to counter the WWF, put all the old guys back in the spotlight.

  6. One of the BEST PPV line ups ever and it contains my favourite match of ALL TIME… Sting vs Bret Hart.

Love the theme at the start!
