2. A contracted replacement fighter for really big/title fights makes alot of sense. Fights have been falling through too late recently. The replacement fighter can come in at any time and can rightfully replace a fighter that misses weight, making the weight game serious now. If the fighter doesnt get used, they get to have a front row seat and a few thousands of dollars. It really is worth doing for the bigger fights and would improve the overall flow of the ufc sense they have so many fighters.
