It's easy to figure out what UFC wanted to happen in the 170lb division.First of its their Marquee division so the want some control over who is champ.Secondly they wana be big in Brazil again because there are no more male Brazilian champs left and on paper only 3 serious contenders one of whom might not get a title fight soon(I don't know his name he is rank 3/4 in bantamweight)In 170 they had 2 opportunities to make a Brazilian loved champ Till and RDA.Both Till vs Wonderboy and RDA vs Covington were number 1 contender matchups in some sense then.Colby was expected to pull views and RDA was expected to win , storyline:former champ becomes interim champ>then when time comes they have Tyrone vacate cus 1 year is up RDA is champ.Or put everything in Till's favour and have him take Wonderboy's number 1 contender spot.He was skipping so many fighters before fighting the top contender he missed weight giving. Him a natural physiological and psychological advantage and he was in his hometown.And even then it was only a decision win brought about by judges ;)They wanted a guy who could give them Brazil.They have a guy who can give them England and Brazil.They avoided Till RDA cus they didn't wana kill 2 cash cows early and they don't care about Colby at all cus despite his antics he's not doing great on numbers.While RDA or till could do great in theory.Tyrone is just a chump he didn't fight for a year.I don't know how people are missing this.
