I don't think this fight will be close. Khabib is vulnerable to counters when he overcommits on punches, and he also lifts his chin without the head movement to back it up unlike Conor. However, Conor's takedown defense is mediocre at best, as is his guard on the ground. They both are specialists at dealing with precisely what each others' weaknesses are, and some of the best in the game at their speciality at that, so I see this being a quick knockout for Conor like what happened to Aldo or Alvarez or I see a total domination for Khabib like a repeat of Edson Barboza.

Mendes is way smaller than khabib, khabib will have no problems what so ever holding conor down, it just a matter if he can get him down without being knocked out first…….

one of the biggest mma minds danaher said either conor kos khabib with an early aldo ko or he fails to do so and gets taken down by khabib like edson and michael johnson did and got smaaaashed. im sure of either outcome. no way khabib gonna stand and try to outbox conor and no way conor gonna shoot for takedown on khabib. in desperation he shot on nate whos lightyears ahead on the mat with bjj and conor was dead in the water. if khabib gets him down hes NOT coming up.
If Chael says Khabib then you must pick Conor lol. In the Mendes fight Conor was hurt and had a serious knee injury and pretty much allowed Chad to take him down and tire himself out. Thing is Khabib won't get tired. And Khabib walked right through a wheel kick from Barboza that is more powerful then any punch that Conor could generate. But the fight starts on the feet and Khabib despite what many believe is not good at taking guys down in space. Usually he pushes them up against the fence and thats where his wrestling and chain wrestling becomes special. If Conor can keep the fight in the center of the Octagon and find that sweet spot, he can put Khabib out. But I def give the edge to Khabib.
