I've never heard anyone say the UFC needs him
UFC does not need Conor Mcgregor and neither does Conor Mcgregor need the UFC.
If the UFC punished Mcgregor and let him out of his contract he can sign with Bellator and decide to fight cans and still sell out arenas, do over 10 million dollar gates and over a million ppv buys or even start his own promotion or some shit

If Conor dropped dead tomorrow, the UFC would go on. Doesn't mean they don't want to make more rather than less money off him, and will choose whichever way that can be done. They don't have any moral outrage about the incident
