According to a report from ESPN, Israel Adesanya will face Kelvin Gastelum for the UFC interim middleweight championship at UFC 236 in April. Champion Robert Whittaker isn’t expected to return from hernia surgery until the summer. While Gastelum was set to face Whittaker at UFC 234, that was derailed with a last minute injury. Adesanya fought Anderson Silva on that UFC 234 card and now steps up to face Whittaker. Here’s my reaction to this breaking news.
