  1. I always wondered if Jay ever thought of going up around Persia Colorado to find a GALLOPING GOOSE. It was a train motor made out of a Pierce Arrow.

  2. Pierce Arrow was one of the "big three Ps", along with Packard and Peerless, that built some of the best American made cars after the brass age. As Jay stated, they were over engineered to be reliable at a time when most cars couldn't go twenty miles without breaking down. After the war, Ford, Chevy and Dodge started making cheap cars that were also reliable, and during the depression the big "Ps" lost sales to more nimble companies that built affordable cars. Peerless was the 1st to go, followed by Peirce, but Packard hung on and failed in the 1950s.

  3. That car would make Herman Munster appear much as a midget.
The color would match his ghostly pallor quite nicely.
Herman, please motor Grandpa down to the mortician for his annual check up.
And have the tires revulcanized on return trip.

  4. We should have that today: your friendly horn, (stately trumpet) and your get the hell outta the way (Aoogha)

  5. Back in the day you would be looking eye to eye with people on horses and in carraiges though…
