1989 Ford Shogun – Jay Leno’s Garage

It started as a Festiva… until Chuck Beck and Rick Titus mounted a Ford SHO V6 in the rear, and Jay decided to inject a little nitrous.

  1. I have an '89 SHO, waiting to be a donor for something special using a mid/rear engine configuration like seen here. I have a spare 944, or a VW GTI cabriolet to use

  2. I do love Jay’s videos, but they could be half the length of there was no repetition.

  3. My first car was a manual ‘88 festiva (with the carb 1.3L) and I loved that hunk of crap. I managed to find 13” American racing rims for it, but it never looked this good. I’m pretty sure the nitros shot on this SHOgun was more HP than the stock engine. When I found out this thing existed I had dreams of finding a junk SHO and doing the conversion myself (17 year old me was more ambitious) but I flipped mine after clipping a tree in wintery weather. Oh well.

  4. Jay's got some very interesting vehicles on this show. He should have been doing this gig the whole time instead of Late night.

  5. I just love how chilled and relaxed Jay is, spills the folder and no second takes or anything just an eh….whatever
