Robert Whittaker Injured, Out of UFC 234!

According to UFC President Dana White, UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker is out of his bout with Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 234. The previous co-main event, Israel Adesanya vs. Anderson Silva, is now the main event. Whittaker reportedly suffered a hernia and there is no timetable for his return as of this time. The fights at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia will move forward on pay-per-view, but this is a major setback for Whittaker, the organization and perhaps the middleweight division. One has to at least anticipate the inclusion of a middleweight interim belt being created.

  1. All people giving Rob sh*t – the guy is a SAVAGE fought yoel with a messed up leg and a broken hand. He defo would NOT pull out of a card in AUS where he is the poster boy of the sport. Unlucky, heal up lets go again ;P

  2. To be fair Adesanya should never get a title shot after beating Brunson and Silva. He should fight Jacare if he beats Silva

  3. Robert isn't injured. He just doesn't want any part of Gastelum's herpes

  4. I like Whittaker but it's time to strip him, gets injured too much. Winner of Silva v Adesanya fights Kelvin for the belt then give Rob the title shot when he's back

  5. Soooo disappointing ( no disrespect to the champ, an injury is an injury), was really looking forward to this one. Wish him a speedy recovery!
