  1. where have you commenters been? Richard Carpenter has been a well known Chrysler enthusiast for 50 yrs or so. He's had many, many collectable Mopars over the yrs. He's a bit of a recluse, now, and you are very privileged to be invited into his garage. I believe he's sold a few of his Mopars and integrated his collection with other marks over the past few decades.
As for the complaints about the power steering, installing new lower ball joints, and changing over to the AAR fast ratio power steering would make a world of difference in the steering and handling in the Cuda.

  2. I always liked the Cudas more than the Challengers. I thought the Cudas had a cleaner look to them. I wonder if Richard ever gave Karen a ride in the Cuda. Great video, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

  3. We loved listening to the Carpenters music in my dads 8 track in his 69' 440 cuda'. I think i heard they only made 500 of them. Thanks for the music Mr. Carpenter and Leno's garage posting this.

  4. He got rid of it because gas went to $1.00 a gallon. Arab gas imbargo too.

  5. Richard and his fabulous 'Cuda made this my favorite episode! He is a true car guy who knows all the facts and figures and history of his vehicle. And he closes the hood with his shirt. The very definition of a car guy!
