Kelvin Gastelum: It was ‘devastating’ to not fight Robert Whittaker

UFC middleweight Kelvin Gastelum joins Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show to describe the empty feeling of not getting to fight Robert Whittaker in the main event of UFC 234. He says he started crying when he got the news the morning of the fight after Whittaker pulled out due to a collapsed bowel and hernia. Gastelum says Israel Adesanya’s win over Anderson Silva was a bunch of “theatrics” and he wasn’t impressed.

Gastelum also says there was no fight was offered to him last second as a replacement and does not believe he will be paid in full. He expresses his desire to fight Adesanya for the interim middleweight title at some point in the near future.

  5. Fuck kelvin gastelum he didnt win shit there is no winner if you dont fight you look a fool saying you have a belt the public now hopes you get jumped by izzy for a title shot you are no champ

  6. And Dana White doesnt give a shit either so get used it because he will screw u over like he is Ferguson when it comes to a title shot? What is a title shot and what does it really mean to Dana? Dana doesnt care about title shots he cares about PPV and $! Alot people disagree with him but he doesn't get it because he has no integrity when it comes to ethics of MMA and trying to make a fair sport! Nope!
