What Jon Jones’s Latest Test Results Mean

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones tested positive for a trace amount of the same oral Turinabol metabolite that caused a series of issues surrounding UFC 232, according to the CSAC and VADA. Jones will not face sanction either by USADA or the other regulatory authorities.

Their reasoning rests on no new usage based on a prevailing hypothesis that’s riddled with problems central to its identity. While not punishing Jones further is the right call, the willingness of anti-doping authorities to adjudicate cases based on stitched-together narratives is disconcerting.

  1. If they dont understand the m3 detection windows how can they be positive on m1 and m2 detection windows? What if the windows are smaller and hes using?

  2. Random thought about tainted supplements. Wouldn't it be easy and cheap for USADA require every fighter to submit a small sample of every single supplement they take. They could be stored and tested later by USADA if a positive test occurs and a tainted supplement is suspected. Is this possible or would guys be able to lace the samples they submit and then take that substance and blame it on the supplement?

  3. Man every time Luke talks about anything other than fighting especially if it's about Jon a little bit of me dies. How can a grown ass man be this delusional about another man it's like he's a naive kid looking at Jon with rainbow tinted eyes. And all this talk about hypothesis,, he doesn't even realize that the same thing can be used in reversed against his very own argument. And what are his credentials to actually even attempt to refute scientific findings? "Science that is not very…. Good" great quote genius

  4. Luke might be dead wrong on Jones winning a slam dunk in arbitration. Jones cant prove it was a tainted supplement, and USADA has no scientific explanation for what happened. What they do have, is multiple positive tests for the same banned substance nearly 2 years apart. The only thing we know for sure, is that at some point Jones ingested tbol. The question is whether or not it was intentional. The burden of proof is on Jones and he has none. Even if it was unintentional how many times does he get a pass. It shouldn't matter. The commission is supposed to protect the fighters. They shouldn't be sanctioning anyone that's dirty. Tested hot for that Tony Montana, Clomid, and Tbol x2.

  5. Everybody is so witty, but this new result is as unsurprising as that. Long-term metabolites are going to long term metabolite

  6. I mean, I think we all know he's going to test hot again after another advancement in testing. It's impossible to know whether the metabolite is a part of whatever he's taking now, but at this point Jon Jones is Jon Jones. For whatever reason he doesn't believe in himself and thinks he needs this shit to compete against lesser fighters. Fuck knows why.

  7. They knew that Lyoto's 7-keto-DHEA was worth 18 months though lmao

  8. Why would anyone think this changes anything? This will be in his system for years. He clearly hasn't re-ingested.

  9. Can jon jones just admit that he’s used so much steroids that his testicles have shrunk and no longer function properly causing him to have low testosterone meaning that he cant complete without using
