USADA, Turinabol and MixedMollyWhoppery | SiriusXM | Luke Thomas

A great channel named MixedMollyWhoppery confirmed an aspect of the recent Jon Jones case before the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). Namely, that other substances where WADA and other anti-doping organizations got excretion windows for various substances wrong – like meldonium and marijuana – there was deeply insufficient science around oral turinabol. In MixedMollyWhoppery’s video, the narrator presents a case that demonstrates the amount of information about Dr. Grigory Rodchenkov’s work with long-term M3 metabolites is severely limited. While UFC VP Jeff Novitzky tried to present the best scientific case for Jones’s innocence, ultimately the evidence is flimsy.

In this video from my radio show, I speak about the value of the video and why it’s important to remain skeptical about authoritative claims from anti-doping agencies.

  1. I love when people like Luke say big words like "Longitudinal" for no reason what so ever. He knows what he's doing. He's alienating plenty of normal listeners that won't have ever heard the word longitudinal used in context. Luke would call these people "donks." He thinks he's coming off as smarter by doing this but really he's just coming off as arrogant for not just using the much easier to understand and more recognizable phrase "over a period of time." Hell I'd argue that most people hear longitudinal and think it's a made up word.

The context in which he uses the word longitudinal is the least used meaning of the word. Longitude is most commonly associated with coordinates not research data accrued over a long period of time.

OH MY GOD. I typed this right after he said "Longitudinal study," then later he says, "I was excoriated!" Just used the word "criticized" you arrogant know it all. You are a radio host not a fucking shakespearean playwright.

  2. The video on Khabib (Rise of a savage) is one of my favourite videos to come out of the MMA community on youtube
