  1. My association to these big WWII aircraft engines is unlimited hydroplane racing. I lived for a few years in Madison, Indiana where they raced those boats every summer. The town sponsored its own boat. I was lucky enough to get to hang out a bit in the shop that they used to work on the boat and in the pits during the race. The sound of those big Allison and Rolls Royce engines racing by was really a thrill. Although unlimited hydroplane racing has moved onto helicopter turbine engines, my memories are of the of the piston engine era.

  2. The greatest American engine of WWII was the Pratt & Whitney Double Wasp.

  3. as a Canadian thank you very much for the kind words spoken about my country and it's aviation museum.

  4. Such a lovely engine. Grandad was a rear gunner on a a Be2a during WW1 in the RAF (or as they called it then the RFC element of the British Army), flying a pretty damn old Rolls Royce Hawk engine. Lovely to see a relatively newer P51 / Lanc engine in full fury ! Thank you for your pursuit and interest in such great engineering projects and making things work. Just need you to sort out the fuel feed issues on my DB9 with DBS fuel system and all will be good with the world !!

  5. I find it very interesting, but I can not follow all the content because there are no subtitles. Why do not they enable subtitles in any of the Jay Lenos's films in YouTube?
