  1. Thanks, Jay! I'm inspired. That nugget of truth about having fun with a simple car that has great handling really rings true for me.

  2. Neat machine – but while you were doing the streamlining, I'm surprised you didn't de-seam it. Or better yet, a Mini Sprint chop and section.

  3. Ever since I first took an interest in cars nearly 30 years ago, every time I've read an article or seen a video detailing a completely outside-of-the-box designed hand-built technological tour-de-force it's been, designed, engineered and built by some borderline Autistic genius Kiwi in his shed.
They only made a movie about Burt Munro but he is only one of many of these glorious nutters sand-casting high performance motorsport engine parts in their back gardens. Salute!

  4. I had loads of Minis over the years, even an automatic one {that burned fuel like a Jaguar} and I honestly pushed some of them further than I got to drive them. The {sub frame} rusted up and was a nightmare and they rusted in all the wrong places {In particular I hated the "Penny", a small round seal that used to go all the time. HOWEVER, they were amazing to drive, the cornered like they were on rails. I once had a sporty one with wide wheel kit and wide tyres and just for a laugh I fitted two huge front seats out of a 12 seat Citroen and THEY FITTED, amazing little gem.

  5. OH I also wanted to say look at these BIG men, they are not squashed in there, it is an amazing design

  6. I like streetcars too, Mr. Leno but do you actually HAVE a streetcar in your collection?
