1911 Christie Fire Engine – Jay Leno’s Garage

After blowing a piston that shot through the side of the block, Jay is ready to take this 9-ton 1911 Christie Fire Engine back on the road and give it a send-off it well deserves.

  1. There's a refrigerator next to the curb at 19:45. They're not filming in Oklahoma are they? I see that all the time here. Toss in a stained, bedbug infested mattress, then you're all set.

  2. Imagine living in Jay Leno's neighborhood and seeing him drive all these crazy cars past you all the time.

  3. Imagine just driving to work like any other morning and seeing that thing at a red light… lol

  4. Christie didn’t quite invent the tank. He invented the Christie Suspension design for tanks. Which allowed tanks to drive on road wheels with and without tracks. The Soviets did use this design on the BT series of tanks. And on the famous T-34.

  5. hm i think the bell has no practical use because the sound of motor is louder from bell except is not the original bell, or this bell needs repair or they mast be bell operator or the mic cant record right the noise

  6. it's a Dr Seuss fire truck!

I can imagine this thing comically bumping and bouncing down the street, honking horns and puffing smoke like in a 30's cartoon
