12 Year Old (w/ GJJ) vs. 16 Year Old (w/out)

Xavier Pa-Jarvis has been a student at our CTC in Hawaii, Central Oahu BJJ, for 2 years. He’s 12 years old (7th grade) and was getting bullied by a 16-year-old (10th grade) for 2 weeks. His parents contacted the school administrators to get it to stop, but nothing changed. On this day, the older kid approached Xavier at the bus stop with his shirt off and kicked him, so Xavier stood up for himself. Double leg takedown, mount to back mount, rear naked choke (opponent’s friends stepped in to force choke release), immediate Stage 1 punch protection from guard, Stage 4 kick-out and back to the feet. They threw a few more punches and then friends broke it up. Moral of the story: Teach your child to avoid street fights at all costs, but if they are physically attacked, make sure they have the tools to defend themselves. 1. Always sum lil bitch that wants to help when the loser is getting his ass handed to him

  2. People always ending up in fights are seeking out fights too. Often times training martial arts will over confident a person thus becoming instigators. Anyways, what are they feeding them kids over there. I know it ain't that poi. Anyways the kid is obviously been training martial arts since a small child; you can see he tried a roundhouse kick which was mostly correctly thrown; you know that takes a few years to work up to a proper roundhouse, distance control and fighting stance all good, and over the few years training striking he's become athletic too. The GJJ display as a whole, that's in line for more like 3-4 years- but then again the RNC you can see him pulling away while chocking as opposed to collapsing into the choke, so that's a tell sign he's a 2 year student; nonetheless If he's at 2 years then we have a good potential fighter here. BJ penn or Holloway go and mentor this kid

  3. The twelve-year-old did great, but it would have been more impressive if the sixteen-year-old would have been bigger than the twelve-year-old LOL

  4. I'm not so sure the ages of these two are accurate, but I'm going assume they are. Looking at their sizes that 12 year old must be the biggest kid in his class and that 16 year old must be the smallest in his. You'd be hard pressed to find a 12 year old who can do this with a 16 year old even with Jiu-Jitsu training. I'm not saying Jiu-Jitsu isn't effective in anyway, but this is clearly a "results not typical" scenario here. I don't want people getting hurt because they've overestimated their skills.
